Software Development Manager

As Software Development Manager, you will lead Speed Identity’s software development team that builds the backbone of our biometric solutions. This is a hybrid role: you will both code and lead. You’ll make sure the team meets delivery goals, maintains technical excellence, and scales as Speed Identity grows internationally. This role is based on-site at Slakthusgatan 9.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers; handle hiring, performance, growth plans.
  • Actively participate in design, code review, and problem-solving.
  • Plan and prioritize work; manage releases and backlog with agile methods.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Technical leadership to align on roadmap and delivery.
  • Ensure high standards in code quality, security, testing, and maintainability.
  • Manage resource allocation, identify risks, and escalate when necessary.
  • Balance short-term deliveries with long-term architectural health and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in software development; with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Strong engineering background: architecture, distributed systems, C#/.NET, hardware/software integration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building and growing teams; mentoring, feedback, performance management.
  • Strong sense of ownership, problem-solving mindset, ability to make technical decisions under uncertainty.

Technical Support Engineer

As a Technical Support Engineer at Speed Identity, you will be at the heart of keeping our biometric systems reliable and secure in the field. This role combines deep technical analysis with hands-on engineering tasks, from troubleshooting complex issues to supporting deployments and upgrades. You’ll work closely with hardware, firmware, and software, making sure mission-critical systems meet the highest quality standards. Because of the nature of the role, you should be comfortable working on site when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, firmware, and system-level issues, using logs and sensor data to find root causes.
  • Execute system deployments, configuration updates, and controlled software/hardware upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Systems Support Engineers and Developers on complex problem resolution.
  • Reproduce customer-reported issues and provide validated fixes or workarounds.
  • Document technical findings, RCA reports, and corrective actions.
  • Support customer acceptance testing, pilot installations, and rollouts.
  • Train frontline support staff and provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
  • Monitor system health and proactively recommend maintenance or improvements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of diagnostic tools and support processes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical support or field service for hardware/software systems and electronics.
  • Strong understanding of integrated hardware/software systems and diagnostics.
  • Comfortable working with both firmware and software (including, ideally, Windows & Linux).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and adapt to changing environments.
  • Driver’s License (B)

We’re looking for a Strategic Account Developer who thrives on complex challenges, deep customer relationships, and long-term strategic impact. The Strategic Account Developer is responsible for managing and expanding Speed Identity’s customer relationships. The role exists to secure long-term revenue growth through consultative, solution-based sales and ensuring customer requirements are fully captured and addressed. Job Description

As Technical Director at Speed Identity, you will be responsible for defining and governing the technical vision, product strategy, and long-term technology roadmap. Your primary focus is to ensure that Speed Identity’s biometric solutions remain secure, competitive, and scalable while aligning technical capabilities with commercial objectives.

We are looking for a leader who creates innovation through others. You will provide the structure, clarity, and technical governance required as we expand further into international and regulated markets. As a member of the leadership team, you will drive cross-functional collaboration and translate strategic intent into sustainable technical execution.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining and maintaining the company’s technical vision, product strategy, and multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Leading and developing the technical organization, including Software Development, QA, Product Management, and Engineering functions.
  • Owning architectural standards and governance across software, hardware, and integrated systems.
  • Establishing robust processes, quality management standards, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
  • Partner with the Sales Director to align product direction with market opportunities and bid strategies.
  • Ensure effective handoffs and collaboration between Product, Operations, and Service & Support.
  • Overseeing risk management related to technology, cybersecurity, and product reliability.
